The point is... having fun with your family. Without question the most fun part of my work is to watch families interact. Cousins, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. In this session cousins and siblings get to let loose after a few poses for the camera. These images always seem to become my favorites, and also what parents seem to recall in their minds years later. The other point ...this session was at the Stone Harbour Point.

The fog rolled in last night in Ocean City and made for a very cool background.
Stephen and Madeline had fun running wild. Tonight it's the bayside of Avalon

First week of August has been perfect weather on the sunny shores of NJ. I have been having a blast creating family portraits from Ocean City, Sea Isle, Avalon, Stone Harbour and Cape May. The Wolfington's were exploring the beach of 18th St. in Avalon.

I first met John and Nicole when they were planning their wedding nuptials in West Chester back in Y2K. With the birth of each of 3 beautiful boys I get the opportunity to see the family grow and capture it all for safekeeping on the walls of the house. This summer they chose a beach session just steps from the deck of their great house in Strathmere.

So how does a photographer get his own family portrait made?? You go to the trusted locals. My family and I just came back from an amazing tour of Italy. We spent a week in Tuscany and a week in Positano. While we were walking down the 650 steps to the beach in positano, it struck me that since we were in this little slice of heaven all together, we needed our portrait made. I looked up and saw the neighborhood studio staring me in the face. Aminta La Fotografia was the place. I stepped inside to be greated by the lovely Ornella. Orny as we came to know her is the studio manager. She speaks beautiful english, and soon I had reserved our session time for Thursday. In usual fashion, the wardrobe was of major concern with my family but we sorted out our choices. On session day we met Orny again along with Piero Incarnato, our very talented photographer who had us posing all over town. I must say it was a blast. Below is a photo snapped by our son AJ, of Piero, Orny and myself. For a look at the results from the session you will have to wait until Christmas. Caio
